CHALLENGE
Currently, Kroger's Associate Experience (AX) design team lacks a deep understanding of Kroger store associates' schedules and responsibilities, leading to assumptions and uncertainty about who they are designing for.
I championed generative research to uncover the day-to-day responsibilities of store associates, with a particular focus on their use of technology. During my internship, I focused on the Grocery Department Lead, but the project is ongoing and expanding to include other roles.
MY RESEARCH PROCESS
IMPACT
The present study took a comprehensive approach to products and explored the broader ecosystem.
Delivered key findings in a presentation to the entire AX team, fostering cross-functional insights and collaboration.
Empowered the AX design team to build more relevant tools by grounding design decisions in real associate needs and behaviors.
LESSONS LEARNED
I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to join the team and learn directly from such a supportive UXR team! This experience has been incredibly insightful, not only during the hands-on work but also through the conversations I’ve had with others. Some of my key takeaways are...
Embracing silence and “awkwardness” during interviews can lead to deeper insights.
Staying flexible, especially when conducting in-store interviews.
Unfortunately, I’m unable to share specific details about my work.
However, if you have any questions about my research, internship experience, or anything else, I’d be happy to connect!
