About Me

Hi there! I’m Ellie, a UX Researcher with 4+ years of experience in research.

I enjoy tackling complex problems to uncover data-driven insights and get to the true “why” behind user behavior.

In my free time, you can find me learning how to bake, building legos, or diving into the latest UX articles :)

My UX Journey

As a psychology major, I worked in 3 clinical psychology labs, including a summer NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) position.

I spent hours conducting statistical analysis, qualitative interviews and coding, and revising manuscripts. I found research deeply rewarding and loved contributing to the advancement of clinical psychology.

I took a course in positive psychology, a subfield of psychology that focuses on the factors that help people thrive. That course introduced me to the realm of UX.

Like positive psychology, UX is about creating environments that support well-being and improving people’s lives through thoughtful design. I knew right then that this was what I wanted to do!

I decided to pursue an MS in Human-Computer Interaction at Georgia Tech, one of the top programs for emerging UX professionals. Through this program, I took relevant courses and developed strong skills in both UX research and design.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with companies like Microsoft, Kroger, and Emory Healthcare through internships and sponsored projects. These experiences gave me hands-on exposure to conducting UX research alongside industry leaders.

Currently, I am a UX Researcher at AI-CARING lab, researching how older adults interact with AI-based technologies.
